The Reel
The new Shimano Genpu XT 200PG Baitcaster Reel is developed to take on a wide variety of boat fishing applications such as Engetsu Slider, Wonderfall Jig, BottomShip and Lucanus fishing. The aim was to engineer a powerful baitcaster reel yet still maintain lightness in the hand and the Shimano Genpu XT family covers the brief without fault. The 200PG comes with a power handle and EVA knob for angler comfort.

Super Free
The Super Free bearing-supported pinion gear system (SF) was designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast. In standard baitcasting reels, when the clutch bar is pressed down, the pinion gear is freed and can actually drag on the spool shaft, creating friction and limiting the length of the cast. With SF, the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing and when the clutch is disengaged the pinion hear and spool shaft are kept in precise alignment. The result is zero friction on the spool shaft for increased freespool.

Shielded Anti-Reverse Bearings
These bearings have been through the same process as the A-RB bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings’ rotation.

The Rod
The Shimano 21 Grappler BB Overhead Rod focuses on effortless power and smooth casts. Featuring the premium Shimano and Fuji componentry you’d find in a high-priced rod, the Grappler BB has you covered for all aspects of saltwater fishing. Incorporating features such as Hi-Power X blank technology, Shimano custom reel seats and CI4 reel seats, as well as Fuji K Stainless Alconite guides. Shimano’s exclusive carbon wrapped Hi-Power X blank technology ensures blank twist and rotation is reduced when the rod is in motion, giving you increased casting performance, better fight control and a crisper feel when working your lures.

Hi-Power X
In Hi-Power X construction, the blank’s outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, which forms an array of “X” shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. The flexibility shows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control.
